The Davidsmeier Quartet – Myra (Violin I, age 14), Hannah (Violin II, 17), Rachel (Viola, 12), and Sarah (Cello, 13) – has played together since choosing their instruments as they each turned 3 years old. They have had the privilege of playing for churches, nursing homes, and special events. The siblings began with many hymns and Irish reels, and have worked their way up to the classical string quartet repertoire.
Education
All four sisters have studied at the Western Springs School of Talent Education. Current and past teachers and chamber music coaches include: Mara Gallagher, Sally Gross, Ed Kreitman, Thomas Wermuth, and Daniel Ziesemer. For the past three years, they have been scholarship recipients at the OPUS Chamber Music Camp in Naperville, IL. They were recently featured in the Friends of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra 2019 Rising Star Showcase. The sisters greatly enjoy playing together and blessing others with their music.
